New Dies

Hi Everybody.  A huge welcome to groovy-grommit,  Jolanda,  Anneke.  Anja,  Karla  and Christina.  As many of you will know last Sunday was Mothering Sunday here in U.K. and we have a wonderful system in place in our house whereby we tell each other what exactly we would like as a gift for birthdays, Christmas etc.  so I chose some Marianne Dies for my Mother's Day gift.  I have been playing around with them today  and this is the result.  I thought that this simple little card would cover many different occasions.  I cut the basket flowers leaves etc. from gold glitter card and used Centura Pearl cardstock so it really does look  much prettier in real life.  The sentiment is embossed in gold and cut out with a Spellbinders die and the sentiment itself is from Crafters Companion.

Hi Marie louise, thank you for your comment re the book...
I took two sheets of card ,one pearl whire and one a dark pink which I made slightly smaller height and width. I scored two lines down the centre of each card to make a half inch spine for the book. The frame, on the inside of the book was a project on the Beatrix potter CD and was just printed out and scored into a frame. The rest was just decoupage for the character. The frame then fitted into the half inch spine to make the book. Not difficult as the CD did most of the work . Hugs Elaine

It's beautiful, love it. I'm sorry I haven't been around much, still have vertigo and it's playing havoc with my crafting. Hazel x
