Hi everybody and a very warm welcome to my new followers.  I want to say Thank You to all the lovely people who regularly leave such nice comments. It is very encouraging.  My card today is from an idea and a beautiful card by the marvellous Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace.  The card shape is cut from a Go Kreate die and the die cut in the centre of the card is Spellbinders Tapestry die.  Flowers from Wild Orchid and ribbon and pearls from stash.

Thank you for taking a look.

Something simple

Hi everybody.  Hope you all have been enjoying this fabulous weather.  I have made a card today that was a special request.  A lady asked for a card for her daughter who is going to graduate in November but did not want the traditional  cap and gown type of card and requested that the card be done in black and white.  I kept the card quite simple and the lady is delighted with the result.  I have simply used a Marianne embossing folder and some Spellbinder dies.  The little butterfly which I use so very often is a punch and was one of my first crafting purchases.  Thank you for taking a look.

In between age

Hi everybody and thank you for all the wonderful comments on my last card.  The card I have today is for Gerry's grand daughter who is in her early teens - too old for a childish card and too young for an adult card - so since she is now taking an interest in clothes and makeup and hairstyles I thought that one of the fabulous shoes would appeal to her.  I have used kraft card for a change after seeing how good it looks on Jacqui's cards  ( and also used some paper from Pink Petticoat , the dies are spellbinders and the base card is from craft creations.  Thank you for taking a look.

Bling it on.....

Good morning everybody.  Hope you all are enjoying this fabulous weather.  My card today was a commission for a 50th wedding anniversary.  I decided to stay away from the traditional gold as I knew that all the cards the couple would receive would be gold themed.  I am happy to say that the customer was totally delighted with the result.  The card shape is a die from Go Kreate and the embossing folder is Tied  Together.  As always I have used Centura Pearl card and pearls and roses from Wild Orchid.

Thank you for taking the time to look in today.

Candy Stripe

Hi everybody.  Hope you are all enjoying this fantastic weather.  I have two cards to show you today but they are virtually the same.  The shape is from the Spellbinders rectangle range and the papers are from Pink Petticoat.  The flower was a free digi and I am sorry that I do not know where I got it from.

Thank you for taking a look.

Fabulous Shoes

Good afternoon everybody from a wet and miserable N. Ireland.   This really looks just like a winter's day.  I think the best place to be today is the craft room.  My card today is a digi from the fabulous shoes cd. and looking through these images it is so hard to choose - they are all gorgeous.  I'm afraid that the colours of the flowers and the green matt look darker in the photograph than they do in real life.  They are in fact the same colour as the shoe.

Thank you for looking in and for all the kind comments that you continually leave.

Hi everybody.  First of all I want to say Welcome to my new followers and thank you to all my followers for taking the time to look in.  My card today is just a simple card for my sister's wedding anniversary which will be on Sunday  - but I know that she does not read my blog so it is safe to show it.  It is very simply done with a Spellbinders die and a Cheery Lynn doily die, some ribbon and a few flowers and pearls.
Thank you again for looking in.

Thursday, 30 May 2013

Hi everybody.  First of all I want to say a huge thank you to all the marvellous bloggers who leave me such very kind comments.  I appreciate all of them.  I would also like to say thank you to the people who sent me messages and e-mails to see if I was ok since I had not been posting any cards.  I had a few commissions to do that I could not post and also - as happens -  life gets difficult at times.  However we have had a few days sunshine and it has been warmer so that cheers everone up.

My card today is a Marianne die and the backing paper is a snippet which was on my desk from a sheet I had used earlier.  It is from Pink Petticoat.  The digi stamp is one which was in my folder and I had printed it onto a Spellbinders diecut.  The pearls are from Wild Orchid and the gorgeous ribbon was a gift from my very generous friend Jacqui  - if there is actually anybody out there who has not seen Jacqui's work - you really should take a look - she makes the most gorgeous cards.

Thank you for taking a look.

Little Princess

Hi everybody.  Such an unsettled day .  One minute it is bright and breezy and the next minute it is raining and  miserable.  A great excuse to stay indoors and play with paper.  This image that I have put on the card today is another that I have had for such a long time - so unfortunately I have no idea where it came from.  The oval die is Spellbinders and the corners are Noor design.  Thank you for taking a look.

Hi everybody.  Thank you all so much for your very kind comments on my last card and my attempt at colouring.  My card today again is another that I coloured.  It was a free digi that I got somewhere on the internet a long time ago and has just been lying in a folder.  The background paper is Pink Petticoat and the die is spellbinders enchanted rectangles 28.  I have to say a huge Thank You to my good friend Jacqui  who sent me a whole packet of Rymans paper to use for printing out papers and for stamping on.  It is so smooth - really fantastic.   Thank you again Jacqui.

Thank you all for taking a look.

I'm still trying

Hi everybody and a very warm welcome to my new followers.  I am still trying to colour images but I'm afraid this does not come naturally to me.  I am not artistic by nature so there is a long road ahead of me yet.    I have been practicing on this image but I am afraid that I have it so long that I have no idea where it came from.  Thank you for taking a look.

More colouring

Good morning everybody.  It is a lovely day here - I hope it lasts.  I  am trying to practice my colouring and so this image appears again so soon.  I do find colouring difficult but I am determined to persevere at it.  I do not know the name of the stamp but I think it is Elizabeth Bell.  I have coloured with promarkers and the die is of course Spellbinders some ribbon from my stash and baby's breath from Wild Orchid.  Thank you for taking a look.

My new dies

Hi everybody.  Got some new dies and of course had to have a play.  They are so ornate I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum.   The dies are Spellbinders enchanted labels 28 and they cut very easily even though I am using centura pearl card.  I only added some baby's breath from Wild Orchid and a few pearls from my stash.

Thank you for taking a look.

A book on scrapbooking

Hi everybody - I'm afraid I have no card today as I have had the decorator in and have been very busy - however my friend Elizabeth whom a lot of you will know as the Silver Scrapper  ( has a lovely giveaway.  Elizabeth is a scrapbooker and is offering one of her books on the subject as a candy - all you have to do is add your name and mention this on your blog.  This is the book she is offering

A wonderful win for anyone interested in scrapbooking.  I have already left her a comment and have my fingers crossed.
I hope none of you are suffering because of this foul weather.

Good afternoon everybody.  Its been a bright but cold day here but at least it is dry and we have not had any of the snow which is affecting so many.  My card today is a commission and is for a little girl for her birthday.  Normally I do not "do" colouring but my normal die cards would not have been right for this occasion.  I have the stamp so long that I do not know which one it is. The paper is digi paper   from Pink Petticoat and the die is Spellbinders and all of this is mounted on to Centura Pearl cardstock.

Thank you for taking a look and for all the lovely comments that you so regularly leave.

CASE'd cards

Hi everybody from a very cold Northern Ireland.  It is bright and dry but very windy and cold.  Both of my cards today are taken from ideas  I have seen on other blogs.  I liked the ides so much that I wanted to make a version of them.  The first card is from the desk of the wonderful Linda Duke  (  Those of you who are not familiar with her work should take a look at her blog - she makes the most beautiful cards.  I also have to thank my good friend Jeannie for the loan of the Poppy Die.  This is my version of Linda's card.

My second card is taken from the desk of the equally marvellous Bekka Feeken  (  again Bekka's blog is well worth a visit.  This is my version of her card.

Thank you for visiting today and taking a look.

From my stash

Hi everybody.  It is lovely and bright and sunny here today but still cool.  I went into my craft room today with the intention of tidying my desk but needless to say I got sidetracked.  This embossed rose topper has been in my stash for ages and I keep looking at it and  putting it down again so I decided today was the day.  I'm afraid the photograph is not very good but it was the one which best showed the lovely shade of green of the card.  It is a soft sage green.

I want to say Thank You for all the lovely comments that you constantly leave.  I read and appreciate every one.

My new Grand Calibur

Hi everybody.  Well it's a cool and  overcast day here but at least it is dry.  As you know my Grand Calibur died on me (at 18 months old) but I decided that it was not really worth my while paying to have it shipped somewhere to have it fixed so I bought a new one on the Spellbinders blockbuster that was on Create and Craft recently and when I told my son that I had bought it he said he would go half on it for me for Mother's Day.  So maybe Students aren't so bad after all!!  Anyway I ordered it on a Saturday and it was delivered on Tuesday morning - very quick for once.  Needless to say I had to play around with it and  so I made these cards.

Thank you for taking the time to look in.

A man's card.

Good afternoon everybody from a bitterly cold N. Ireland.  It has been trying to snow here all day but thank goodness it melts as it falls.  My card today is the dreaded  man's card.  I know I am going to need quite a few men's cards in the coming months (both commissions and family) so I made a start today.  I was going to say that I was undecided about this card but if I do that then my friend Jacqui  at Jacqui's little piece of England  -  will phone me and  give me a "telling off". LOL   Anyway thank you for taking a look.

Keeping busy

Good afternoon everybody.  Over the past number of days I have had the decorators in so I confined myself to the craft room.  Unfortunately just after I started my cards my Grand Calibur decided to die on me.  I knew that it was on its last days as there were "things" rattling about inside and the handle had become very loose, but all of a sudden it just stopped working.  Thankfully I still had my Cuttlebug to fall back on for smaller dies.  Anyway these are the fruits of my labour.

Thank you for taking a look.

For my sister

Good afternoon everybody.  It is a beautiful afternoon here.  Thank goodness we did not get any of the snow - it was wet and windy but that was all.  My card today is one for my sister whose birthday will be on Sunday.

Thank you for taking a look   and I hope you are having a lovely Valentine's Day.
