A commission

Hi everybody and a very warm welcome to Rita my newest follower.  This card is a request from my next door neighbour for her grand daughter in Australia.  I have used the braided ribbon again as I think it is a nice embellishment, the cardstock is centura pearl and the edge die is one of the spellbinders loaned to me by my dear friend Jeannie (who unfortunately does not yet have a blog despite the fact that she makes beautiful cards).  The stamp I have used is from Belles 'n Whistles and coloured with promarkers and a little glitter on the wings.  Flowers from Wild Orchid and leaves from Marianne dies.  For the first time I have used Kraft card and I like the look that it gives.

It is a very overcast day here today and since I had family here all day yesterday and consequently never got out of the kitchen all day I am now going to spend the rest of the afternoon playing around with more of Jeannies dies.   Have a lovely day.     Marie-Louise

Card for my son

My son who had been suffering from cancer was 23 last week and it coincided with his being in remission for one year.  I made this card for him and although he liked it he did think that purple was a little feminine.  I liked the Kenny K stamp which is Lady Victoria,  I also used the Tim Holtz clock and the cogs embossing folder.

My Cactus is confused

I just wanted to post a picture of my Christmas Cactus before all the blooms die off.  It has been in bloom for about 6 weeks and these are the last of  the blooms.  It used to bloom at Christmas but for for the last 2 or 3 years it now blooms later.  I suppose it should be split but I am afraid of killing it as I am not very green fingered.

New Dies

Hi Everybody.  A huge welcome to groovy-grommit,  Jolanda,  Anneke.  Anja,  Karla  and Christina.  As many of you will know last Sunday was Mothering Sunday here in U.K. and we have a wonderful system in place in our house whereby we tell each other what exactly we would like as a gift for birthdays, Christmas etc.  so I chose some Marianne Dies for my Mother's Day gift.  I have been playing around with them today  and this is the result.  I thought that this simple little card would cover many different occasions.  I cut the basket flowers leaves etc. from gold glitter card and used Centura Pearl cardstock so it really does look  much prettier in real life.  The sentiment is embossed in gold and cut out with a Spellbinders die and the sentiment itself is from Crafters Companion.

Hi everybody.  First of all let me say a belated Welcome to Sandra, Claire, Shirley-Anne and Elaine and Thank you for adding you names to my blog.  As you will see I have added a few (hopefully I will be able to add more later) of my favourite pieces of music.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
This card is one that a lady has requested and I do hope that she will be pleased with it - my biggest critic (Gerry) liked it so I'm half way there.  I'd like to know what you think.

Liebster award

I must say a hugh Thank You to two lovely ladies who awarded me the Liebster award.  I do appreciate the lovely thought.  I follow both of their blogs and admire their work.  The ladies in question are  Sasha of   http://sashas-inspirations.blogspot.com/  and  Sharon of  http://cardcreationsbysharonjoy.blogspot.com/   .    The rules are that when you are given this award you link it back to the person(s) who gave it to you and thank them.  Then choose five people that you wish to give it to and let them know and post the award on your blog.  I do hope that the five people that I have chosen will accept this award as I follow your blogs and love the work that you do.  I do not add my name as a follower unless I really do follow that blog on a regular (even daily) basis.  The people IO have chosen are: -    http://jacquibourne7.blogspot.com/

Clean and simple

Hi everybody,   First of all I want to say Hi and Welcome to Sasha, Glenda, Anne and Sharon Joy.  I hope you are all keeping warm.  We have been very lucky here in Northern Ireland and have not had any snow so far.  I could not resist some stamps that I saw on Create and Craft recently - just basic flowers, sentiments etc. so I put together this clean and simple card - the kind of card that is very hands to have ready as it covers so many occasions.  Thank you for looking in.
